Student Government can positively affect credit card marketers access to your campus. By making it
more stringent for table promotions to give away trinkets and sign up
students, the number of people that get into credit difficulties
will dramatically drop.
An option is to recommend that credit education be offered during credit card sales efforts.
This would minimize the number of students who sign up, use and abuse
credit cards. Many campuses such as University of Minnesota,
Northwestern University and University of California have outright
banned table top promotions that lure students in with
premiums
For example,
Sen. Jeanne Kohl Welles, University of Washington, is sponsoring an effort that would restrict the marketing of credit cards to college students on the state's public school campuses. He said, "the debt students face after college or graduate school keeps growing — and part of it is from credit cards.
The reality of all that debt isn't that good," said Welles.
Our company can also be
contacted if you need resources. We do this FREE
of charge and what's more you have full "jurisdiction". You dictate what
we present, how we present it and for how long we talk.
Also, did you know that your school sells names and addresses of students so credit card companies can then send credit card junk mail? Change this!
